17 Weeks

As of last friday we are now at 17 weeks! I am loving being pregnant now because my allergies are finally going away and I am feeling great with the occasional nap. =) I am also starting to feel our baby boy move which is the best feeling in the world. We had a Dr.'s appt last Thursday and they said that the baby is growng normally according to my measurements of my abdomen. Also the HR was 148. I was a little worried because I have only gained 3 lbs and I am hoping that is enough at this point. Dr. Eastman wasn't concerned and said that I would gain more weight later on in the pregnancy. My belly is definitely getting bigger and I am now in maternity pants.  I also declined the AFP (alpha feta protein) since our first u/s turned out well.  Next friday we have our u/s and I am super excited to see our baby again and definitively find out what we are having.

On another note we had a great weekend and got some great snapshots of Jamison while we were raking/playing in the leaves. Jamison is getting so independent and likes to do everything "by myself" as he states it. He puts on his shoes by himself and washes his hands by himself and likes to get into bed by himself. In a way it is good that he wants his independence because that will be nice when the baby comes that he is able to do more for himself. He has been going pee pee in the potty at night and is doing really well with that. Hopefully we can get him potty trained soon. Well I will update you after the u/s and let everyone know how it goes. I am a little nervous as this was when everything went wrong in our last pregnancy, but I am hopeful that everything will be ok. Until then I hope everyone has a great week.

We have a healthy baby!

I can't tell you how excited we are that we found out that we are having a healthy baby! We had our u/s on Sept 9th in Omaha with Dr. Barsoom and he said, "The baby has a noggin' " It was quite funny the way he put it. The Dr. also told us that the baby doesn't have spina bifida either. The u/s tech did check a nuchal translucency, which checks the thickness of the baby's neck, and that was normal too. Nuchal Translucency can be positive in diagnoses such as down's syndrome and other genetic problems. The baby's HR was 148 and we found out that we are having a boy! The u/s tech is 90% sure about this. We really didn't care what sex we had just as long as the baby is healthy. We were pretty excited to find out that it is a boy since we have all boy clothes, the stroller is blue and brown, baby swing is brown, etc. We also said that later on it might be kind of fun to have bunk beds in one room when the child gets old enough.

We also talked to Dr. Barsoom about a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) and he said that they do them in Omaha. This is definitely an option since I didn't enjoy having a c-section with Jamison. Dr. Barsoom told us that they could induce us at 37 weeks after they do an amniocentesis to check the baby's lungs to see if they are mature enough to breathe on it's own. We could also stay at my parent's house in Omaha and wait to go into labor after 37 weeks and have the baby in Omaha. Decisions, Decisions. The only reason we would have the baby in Omaha is because as of right now they don't do VBAC's in Sioux City. = (

I also had an appt with Dr. Eastmann, my primary OB, and everything is good. Blood pressure was 122/60, HR 70, and urine negative for glucose or protein. Baby's HR was 148. I love listening to the baby's HR, it is the most beautiful sound in the world. My next Dr. appt with Eastmann is on Oct 14th and they will check the AFP. (This is what was positive with Isabelle but we already know that baby doesn't have any neural tube defects so I feel like there is nothing to worry about) My next ultrasound will be on Oct 21 in Omaha with Dr. Barsoom and this will be an overall look at all of the baby's anatomy. Hopefully a confirmation of boy or girl so we know for sure! = )

Right now I am 13 weeks as of last Friday and almost in my second trimester! Woohoo! I am starting to feel like I have more energy which is really nice. I have been having some allergy problems but the Dr.'s have said it is ok to take Zyrtec and Benadryl if I need to. I am a little sad knowing that I will probably only be pregnant one more time since we want 3 kids so I am trying to enjoy this pregnancy as much as I can. I will post belly pics and u/s pic soon!

Trip to Ohio!

Another great trip this summer that we did was go to Ohio for my cousin Lindy's wedding! It was so good to see all of my relatives that live in Ohio.
We chose to fly and J did great. He slept most of the plane rides but when he wasn't sleeping we kept him preoccupied with toys and crayons. The only negative thing that happened is that we got 2 flights cancelled in one day! We couldn't believe it! It was just ridiculous. We also got to go to King's Island which is an awesome amusement park in Cincinnati. Here are the pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/thegouldfam/sets/72157627534100448/show/

Trip to the Zoo

Another memorable trip that we did this summer was go to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. J loved it! He especially loved the seals, elephants, and the fish aquarium.
Also another thing to mention is that my parents moved from Ohio to Elkhorn, NE! We love having my parents so close! It is absolutely great. Here are the rest of the pics from the zoo http://www.flickr.com/photos/thegouldfam/sets/72157627036288267/show/

Jamison's First Camping Trip May 2011

We took J camping this summer back in May and he had such a great time. He loved being outdoors. WE rented a cabin in Yankton with some friends. It was a little too cold to go swimming at that time but we still had fun none the less. Our next camping trip is next weekend! We are super excited to announce that we are having another baby! We found out on July 16th that we were pregnant and it was 4 days before my bday so it was a great pre bday surprise. I have had one ultrasound already when I was 7 weeks and we saw/heard the baby's heartbeat. They also said that are due date will be March 23, 2012.
We are very hopeful this time that our baby will be healthy and I have been taking 5mg of folic acid which is 20 times the normal dose to prevent anencephaly/neural tube defects. We will have an ultrasound on Sept 9th to rule out anencephaly/neural tube defects so we will keep our fingers crossed!
I have been feeling really good and I haven't had any morning sickness but have been feeling really tired. We told Jamison that there is a baby in the my belly and he yells into my tummy "Hello baby, " it is so cute. He will be a great older brother.
Right now I am 10 weeks pregnant and can't wait to find out what our next baby will be! I have a feeling that it is another boy due to my cravings. I have been wanting steak and potatoes, watermelon, pasta, pizza, and ice cream just like I was with Jamison. We will find out in October....

Jamison's 2nd Birthday Party!

I do apologize for not writing for awhile...we have been really busy this summer! Now Jamison is 2! I can't believe my baby is a toddler. Earlier this summer we changed him from a crib to a toddler bed because he was crawling out of his crib and he is doing really well with that change. He loves his new converted bed.
I took him to the doctor for his 2nd bday well child check up and he was 22.5 lbs (in the less than 3rd percentile) and 33 inches (in the 25th percentile for his age) the Dr. isn't concerned about him because he is growing along the same curve.
Some things that Jamison does as a 2 year old: he says about 100+ words, hw can say 3 words together, he lands on both of his feet when he jumps, he is getting really good at using utensils when eating, he is climbing on everything, he can go downstairs and upstairs without any difficulty, and yes he is starting to go pee pee in the potty! He goes on the potty every night before bed. I may start trying to get him to go during the day now too.

For his 2nd bday party we had an elmo theme and it was a pool party. We got Pizza Ranch and my sister Kelly made Monster cookie cupcakes! Yummy! We had about 25 people there and J got a lot of really nice toys including a trike! He had such a great time. Here are pics from the party http://www.flickr.com/photos/thegouldfam/sets/72157627409719359/show/

This weekend we are going camping in Yankton for Andy's 31st bday and there is nothing more than J loves than to be outside. He is so excited to go camping. We will post pics when we get them uploaded.
